Job summary

The Washington State Auditor’s Office (SAO) seeks an Assistant State Auditor 1 for Team Yakima. This in-training role focuses on field audits of local governments with mentorship, on-the-job training, and structured feedback to progress within the ASA pipeline.

Internal candidates only, Yakima-based with a hybrid work schedule and the chance to develop accounting and auditing skills through hands-on experience and formal reimbursements for certifications and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with accounting courses or equivalent experience.
• Experience in accounting, auditing, or financial investigations preferred.
• Internal candidates must be eligible to transfer within SAO.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field audits of local governments in Yakima and surrounding counties.
• Receive on-the-job training and feedback to progress in ASA levels.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver accurate audit results.
