State Auditor's Office in Washington state offers seasonal and year‑round internship opportunities with our audit teams statewide. Interns must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, travel to audit sites will be required, and the pool remains active for three months for openings.

Team Yakima is one of 17 local audit teams within the Office of the Washington State Auditor and is responsible for conducting audits in Kittitas, Yakima, Adams, and Grant Counties. Local audit teams conduct accountability, financial and single audits on a wide array of entity types including cities, counties, school districts, hospitals, public utility districts, risk pools, fire districts, ports, and special facility districts.
Team Yakima's mission is to partner with entities to increase trust in government. We do that by producing efficient and high-quality audits through collaboration and teamwork, providing meaningful recommendations that entities can understand, and building positive relationships through strong communication, education and mutual respect.
We offer seasonal and year-round paid internships with our audit teams across the state. The start and length of internships is flexible. Travel to audit sites will be necessary.
This recruitment will be used to establish a pool of Audit Intern candidates. Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates will remain in the pool for three months and referred to our hiring managers as openings occur.
Interns work with our audit staff and perform audit tests, analyze data, communicate with entity staff, and provide support for more complex audit procedures. Interns may be involved in several small assignments or one large assignment over the course of the internship.
Degrees awarded outside the United States must include a credential evaluation report.
