Job summary

Michaels Stores in Sugar Land, TX is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and facilitate in-store events such as children's birthday parties and craft classes. You will provide friendly customer service, help shoppers locate products, and ensure a fast, friendly checkout experience.

As part of daily store operations you will assist with truck unloads, stock, and planograms; communicate with clients and team; instruct participants in crafts; and create backup plans.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, phone calls, and paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events; uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
