Job summary

The Guitar Center Company is seeking a Drum and Percussion Specialist to be the face of Guitar Center’s Drum Shop. You will greet customers, assess their needs, recommend drum gear, and work to overcome objections to close sales.

Responsibilities include maintaining an organized department, keeping pricing accurate, and staying current with product trends. You will also participate in vendor trainings and engage with the local drumming community.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Drum and Percussion Equipment.
• Previous retail sales or merchandising experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in the Drum Department, guiding them to suitable drum gear.
• Understand musical needs and recommend products to meet those needs.
• Promote and sell drum gear to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and communicate features/benefits to customers.
• Keep the Drum Department clean, organized, and properly merchandised according to planograms.
• Monitor pricing, update displays, and perform daily operational tasks.
