Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Events Coordinator for Fort Wayne. You will plan and execute children’s parties and in-store events, provide friendly customer service, and help customers shop while promoting rewards programs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and children's events.
• Excellent people skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication and listening skills.
• Retail or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities as needed.
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team; handle inquiries by email and phone.
• Assist with omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS) and store operations (stocking, planograms).
• Prepare for and assist during events; ensure setup, break down, and cleanliness.
• Support rewards enrollment and explain benefits of Private Label Credit Cards.
