Job summary

The Buckle, Inc. is seeking a Seamstress/Tailor to fulfill alterations in-store, including hemming jeans and pants, to support the company mission of creating the most enjoyable shopping experience for guests.

This role emphasizes quality alterations, adherence to ticket instructions, and exceptional customer service within a fast-paced retail environment. The position is part-time with benefits available after the waiting period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent training in sewing/alterations.
• Experience in sewing or alterations is preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet alterations deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality alterations on merchandise at store location.
• Follow ticket instructions and markings based on Guest specifications.
• Provide on-the-spot alterations when requested by Store Leaders.
• Meet deadlines and Guest expectations for merchandise alterations.
• Use Buckle-provided sewing machine and supplies to perform alterations.
• Measure and mark alteration lines and pin folds as needed.
• Remove stitches and resew merchandise to specification.
• Press merchandise and repair defects as required.
• Record all work and update the alteration log and instructions.
• Maintain productivity, e.g., four jean alterations per hour.
• Keep a clean, organized work area and notify leadership when supplies are required.
• Flex hours seasonally based on business needs.
• Communicate policy violations to management and HR as appropriate.
• Provide feedback on merchandise handling to supervisors.
