Job summary

EDSI is seeking an In-School Youth Career Advisor to provide outreach, enrollment, case management, career coaching, and transition support to in-school youth in the Gulf Coast region.

You will build relationships with schools and partners, conduct outreach and screening, manage a caseload, and prepare youth for career opportunities. Travel 50–75% and bilingual Spanish/English are preferred. A related degree is preferred, with Microsoft Office proficiency and a valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, human services, workforce development, social services, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with youth, students, jobseekers, or people receiving education, career, or workforce services preferred.
• Experience in case management, career coaching, student services, workforce development, education, or related field highly desirable.
• Ability to build professional relationships with youth, families, school staff, community partners, and employers.
• Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain accurate program data.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Regional travel is estimated to be at least 50–75%.
• This position may include work on nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with schools, colleges, staff, partners, students, and families in the assigned region.
• Conduct school and community outreach to identify eligible youth.
• Assist with screening, eligibility, intake, and enrollment requirements.
• Manage a caseload and maintain regular contact with participants.
• Conduct career assessments and coach participants on education goals and career paths.
• Identify barriers and arrange supportive services and referrals.
• Prepare participants for career exploration events, employer engagements, and work-based learning.
• Coordinate participation in SEAL, Summer Jobs, and other opportunities.
• Help participants develop resumes, workplace skills, and financial literacy.
• Collaborate with WBL Specialist to connect participants with employers, internships, and WBL opportunities.
• Monitor progress and track outcomes against goals.
• Plan next steps and coordinate handoffs to postsecondary or OSY services.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of services and outcomes.
