Job summary

The Muscogee County School District in Columbus, GA is seeking an In School Suspension Technician to supervise students assigned to ISS and assist with completing educational activities under teacher guidance.

Starting date is July 28, 2026; the role offers a $18.64 hourly rate with 190 work days annually. Requires 60 college hours and Georgia Paraprofessional certification; reports to the Assistant Principal. Commitment to supporting diverse learners is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 60 semester/100 quarter hours of eligible college hours.
• Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate with in-service training related to position.
• Experience: None.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Provides instructional assistance and supports students based on teacher lessons.
• Coordinates with teachers to continue assignments and IEP objectives.
• Evaluates students and refers for remediation or counseling as needed.
• Interacts with students to reinforce responsible behavior.
• Keeps current records on ISS students and completes paperwork on schedule.
• Assists with discipline record keeping.
• Maintains structure and directs conduct of students per policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.
