• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media considering location constraints and student needs.
• Strives to implement district philosophy and instructional goals.
• Assesses student progress and provides required reports.
• Diagnoses learning abilities and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and maintains classroom order fairly.
• Available to students/parents outside instructional day when requested.
• Plans supervises assignments for aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees.
• Performs other related duties as requested.
