Job summary

Tempe Union High School District is seeking an In-School Suspension Monitor to supervise students assigned to the ISS program and help maintain an orderly learning environment at the school campus.

The role requires strong communication, conflict-resolution skills, and the ability to work with students and staff to reinforce positive behavior. A high school diploma is required, with mediation training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mediation training with conflicts in a disciplinary setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and maintain daily attendance and other records of ISS students.
• Review ISS policies, procedures and student expectations.
• Support students and staff with behavior management and preventing misconduct.
• Monitor ISS assignments and assist with classroom work.
• Serve as liaison between teachers and ISS students for classwork.
• Maintain a structured, orderly environment and report problems to staff.
• Ensure confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Respond to inquiries from teachers, students, and parents in a prompt and respectful manner.
• Attend mandatory trainings.
