Job summary

Tempe Union High School District is seeking an In-School Intervention Specialist 1.0 FTE to supervise students in the ISS program and help maintain an effective learning environment. The role reports to the Principal and is a 40-hour week, 9-month schedule within the School Campus department.

Responsibilities include monitoring attendance, enforcing ISS policies, collaborating with teachers, and ensuring a structured classroom setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience supervising and working with high school students preferred.
• Mediation training with conflicts in a disciplinary setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students assigned to the In-School Suspension Program (ISS) and maintain an effective learning environment.
• Provide supervision and maintain daily attendance and other records as required of students assigned to the ISS program.
• Work with students and staff on behavior management and prevention of undesirable behaviors that led to ISS.
• Monitor ISS assignments; encourage and provide feedback to students and monitor tests and assignments.
