Job summary

Hilton Charlotte University Place is seeking an in-room dining server to deliver food, drinks, and amenities directly to guest rooms while providing polished, high-end service. You will coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely orders and uphold the hotel's standards.

You will take orders by phone, carry out deliveries, set up rooms, handle payments, and maintain station cleanliness throughout shifts. Previous guest-service experience is a plus; exceptional communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Communication: Speak clearly and maintain a polite, professional, and discreet demeanor.
• Physical Stamina: Stand or walk for long shifts, and lift or push heavy food trays and carts (up to 25–50 lbs).
• Menu Knowledge: Understand all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
• Multitasking: Manage multiple room orders, phone calls, and hallway pickups efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Order Delivery: Transport food and beverage orders from the kitchen to guest rooms accurately and in a timely manner.
• Room Setup: Set up food trays or rolling carts inside the guest room according to hotel standards.
• Order Taking: Answer room service phone calls, record orders, and use up-selling techniques to promote menu items.
• Tray Retrieval: Return to guest rooms and hallways to pick up used trays, carts, and dishware.
• Payment Processing: Present accurate checks, handle guest charges, and process payments.
• Station Maintenance: Restock side-work areas, polish glassware, roll silverware, and make coffee or tea.
