Job summary

The Inn at Mattei's Tavern is seeking an In-Room Dining Server to deliver outstanding service to guests in-room and with colleagues. You will take orders, input into the POS, deliver items, and ensure accurate billing and guest satisfaction.

Must have 1+ year in customer service or hospitality, be able to lift 30 lbs, and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. State and local certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Take and input orders into the POS with correct timing and billing.

• Prepare guest checks and process payment or signature.
• Maintain and clean all restaurant equipment and fittings.
• Keep cart stocked with beverages, snacks, and non-food items; manage storage.
• Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.
• Clean and maintain in-room private/mini-bars; report issues.
• Check quality and expiration of items; replace as needed.

As an In‑Room Dining Server, you will be responsible for serving the needs of guests and colleagues by ensuring an outstanding and memorable in‑room dining experience for each guest.

• Accurately and quickly take and place orders and input them into the POS system ensuring correct timing and billing.
• Deliver requested items in an efficient and timely manner.
• Interact with guests about needs and satisfaction with the beverage, ensuring a consistently caring and high‑quality service.
• Retrieve orders from the POS system and communicate any special requests or modifications to the kitchen. Maintain knowledge of all menu items.
• Prepare the guest check accurately and collect payment or signature, as required.
• Operate, maintain, and properly clean all restaurant equipment and fittings.
• Ensure that the food delivery is tidy and keep an accurate par of food items such as beverages and snacks, as well as non‑food items like menu cards, napkins, straws, etc. on cart and in storage areas.
• Use safe food handling procedures and maintain a safe working environment by following proper skills and food safety guidelines.
• Clean and maintain in‑room private/mini‑bars; report damage or malfunctioning units.
• Check quality and expiration of all items; discard and replace according to established procedures.

Compensation

$18.03/hour +

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in customer service or the foodservice/hospitality industry.
• Must meet the minimum age requirements for food and alcohol service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
• Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
