Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is seeking an In-Room Dining Server to provide attentive room service, check orders with the kitchen, and deliver items with detailed guest-facing descriptions.

The role requires a high school education and flexible availability across days, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to carry a tray and excellent English communication. We offer $20/hour plus tips, plus comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in food and beverage or related work.
• Must be flexible with schedule – able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, evening/overnight shifts.
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Ability to carry and balance a tray.

Responsibilities

• Check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order and deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room.
• Transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
• Greet guests and describe items with vivid descriptions of origin, taste and preparation; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to tray removal requests.
• Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
• Properly close guest checks securing room number and signature; settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
• Take guest orders in the absence of order taker.
• Plate and prepare small food items.
• Comply with Four Seasons’ Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
• Other duties and projects as assigned

The Opportunity:

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is currently looking for an In-Room Dining Server.

Essential function of The Job:

• Check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order and deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room.
• Transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
• Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
• Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
• Properly and accurately close guest checks securing room number and signature; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
• Take guest orders in the absence of order taker.
• Plate and prepare small food items.
• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
• Other duties and projects as assigned
