Job summary

Hilton in New Orleans is hiring an Order Taker to deliver a positive guest experience by handling room service orders with accuracy and warmth. You will answer room service calls, take orders, and enter them into the POS system.

Build menu knowledge, upsell items, reconcile checks, and participate in team-focused service. Hilton offers medical and vision insurance, PTO, 401(k), travel discounts, tuition assistance, and more. This is a full-time role in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer room service telephones and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
• Maintain knowledge of the menu including promotions, daily specials, preparation methods, and ingredients
• Upsell food and beverage items to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue
• Accurately take guest food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
• Reconcile checks upon order delivery, including verifying totals, ensuring proper gratuity distribution, and managing the cash drawer and house bank in accordance with established accounting procedures

What will I be doing?

As an Order Taker, you will play a key role in delivering a positive guest experience by handling room service orders with efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism. Responsibilities include performing the following duties to the highest standards:

Answer room service telephones and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner

Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including restaurant promotions, daily specials, preparation methods, and ingredients

Upsell food and beverage items, including sides, desserts, beverages, and promotional offerings, to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue

Accurately take guest food and beverage orders and enter them into the appropriate point-of-sale (POS) system

Reconcile checks upon order delivery, including verifying totals, ensuring proper gratuity distribution, and managing the cash drawer and house bank in accordance with established accounting procedures
