Job summary

RAE Corporation is seeking an In-Process Quality Control professional to monitor coil assembly and ensure adherence to quality procedures. Responsibilities include reviewing build docs, conducting inspections, and coordinating corrective actions across Fin, Tube, Build, Expanding, and Brazing teams.

The role requires at least 2 years in manufacturing, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions from supervisors and managers.
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software products and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and comply with procedures and regulations.
  • Review CSF and build documents prior to equipment assembly.
  • Monitor production areas and assist various groups (Fin, Tube, Build, Expanding, Brazing).
  • Perform spot checks and detailed inspections, including MPT/FPT gauges and go/no-go tests.
  • Inspect tubing for damage, oil, contaminants; ensure acceptable materials are used.
  • Verify quality lists and test results; participate in first-run accuracy with operators.
  • Support brazing and floater checks; ensure proper decay tests are performed.
  • Review nonconformance issues, implement corrective actions, and train staff.
  • Coordinate calibration and equipment monitoring with QC team.
  • Provide tools and training to coil shop personnel.
  • Develop KPIs for grading, rework, leak rates; participate in PDCA cycles.
  • Collaborate across departments to gather information for production and QA.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and government regulations.

Maintain Work Environment*** o Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. o Collaborate with coil shop personnel to maintain the cleanliness of the shop and external areas. ***2. Document Review and Compliance*** o Review and understand CSF and other build documents prior to and during equipment assembly. o Ensure that manufacturing instructions are followed. ***3. Production Area Monitoring*** o Review production areas daily and assist various production groups as needed (Fin, Tube, Build, Expanding, Brazing, etc.). ***4. Quality Inspection*** o Monitor all coils in production for signs of defect and perform spot checks. o Conduct detailed inspections, including MPT/FPT gauge tests, go/no-go tests, and distributor, header, and connection checks. ***5. Tubing and Material Checks*** o Inspect tubing for physical damage, excess oil, or contaminants, and ensure only acceptable materials are used. ***6. Spot Checking Quality Lists*** o Verify ball bearings for expansion, expansion mandrels, and other key quality parameters in production. ***7. First-Run Criteria*** o Work with Fin, Tube, and CMS operators to ensure first-run accuracy. Develop training and troubleshooting materials as needed. ***8. Brazing and Floater Checks*** o Ensure proper decay tests are performed by Brazing personnel before coils are sent to test. o Work with floaters to complete full checks, ensuring dimensions and airflow direction are correct. ***9. Corrective Actions and Training*** o Review nonconformance issues, perform corrective actions, and develop training materials. o Review rework costs and identify frequent rework issues for correction. ***10. Calibration and Equipment Monitoring*** o Collaborate with other Quality Control personnel to ensure equipment and tools are calibrated. ***11. Support for Coil Shop Personnel*** o Provide coil shop personnel with adequate tools, training, and materials to perform their job functions. ***12. Grading and KPI Development*** o Input grades from testers, review results with Production weekly, and develop KPIs for grading, rework, leak rates, etc. ***13. Continuous Improvement*** o Participate in teams to improve design and functionality of equipment (PDCA, KATA, LMS, Continuous Improvement). ***14.
