Loadstar is seeking an In-Plant Supervisor to lead and support our in-plant product handling logistics operations. You will oversee loaders, switchmen, warehouse staff, and dock operators, ensuring safe, reliable execution of work per Loadstar procedures and regulations.

You will coach and develop the team, drive customer service improvements, participate in hiring, and promote a culture of safety and operational excellence across shifts and sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years industry logistics experience.
• TWIC and valid Driver’s License required.
• Railcar and truck loading/unloading and dock operations experience.
• Familiarity with Loadstar Safety Management System and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for customer communications and service improvements.
• Ensure compliance with mandated procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership, support, and high employee morale for the team.
• Oversee training and preparedness of shifts and field staff.

Job Summary

In-Plant supervisors are responsible for the success of Loadstar’s in-plant product handling logistics operations. Supervisors provide leadership and support to loaders, switchman, warehouse staff, and dock operators for whom they are responsible. This support includes the safe and reliable execution of work activities pursuant to Loadstar and customer procedure and applicable regulations. Supervisors are the backbone of the Loadstar in-plant operations and enjoy significant autonomy and decision-making authority.

Job Requirements

• Minimum two years industry logistics experience.
• Possession of a valid and current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and valid Driver’s License.
• Must have railcar and truck loading/unloading and dock operation experience.
• Excellent overall knowledge and adherence to Loadstar Safety Management System and other applicable company policies and procedures

• Continuously support and assist field employees to ensure their success and address any challenges they encounter.
• Oversee the training of newly hired or licensed field workers, ensuring they are confident and prepared for their roles.
• Conduct regular employee evaluations, provide feedback, and encourage development and succession planning to foster career growth.
• Handle employee discipline and conduct coaching meetings when necessary to address performance issues and promote improvement.
• Promptly respond to operational incidents, oversee corrective actions, facilitate lessons learned discussions, and ensure thorough investigations are conducted.
• Embrace safety and environmental care as fundamental values of leadership, promoting a culture of responsibility and awareness among employees.
• Conduct routine audits on field employees at job sites and organize safety meetings to educate employees and discuss observation findings.
• Work closely with Loadstar Marine Logistics to address work coverages and problem-solving initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

• Ability to speak, write, read fluent English and have good vision.
• Frequently use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally lift, carry, grip, hold, and/or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
