Job summary

SiSTEM is seeking in-person tutors to work with K-12 students across Greatwood, Firethorne and Richmond, TX. You will mentor students face-to-face in math, science, English, and other subjects, building deep understanding and strong study habits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one subject and grade band listed.
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet students in person in the Richmond, TX area.
• Experience with Honors/Pre-AP/AP/IB/dual credit or test prep settings.
• Proven track record of helping students improve grades or understand concepts.
• Clear, patient communication and ability to make a subject click for students.
• Professional reliability.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one and in person with students in grades K-12 in your subject areas.
• Help students develop deeper conceptual understanding, not just finish homework.
• Build study habits, problem-solving strategies, and confidence across subjects.
• Identify and close gaps in foundational skills holding students back.
• Align sessions with each student’s roadmap through SiSTEM tools.
• Communicate progress and strategy with families when appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of preparation and professionalism.
