D’Youville University invites applications for an hourly Professional Tutor role under the HCOP program in Buffalo, NY. The tutor will provide in-person tutoring to enrolled HCOP students in subjects like English for speakers of other languages, science, and writing, with up to 10 hours per week, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

The program supports economically and educationally disadvantaged students and aims to improve recruitment, matriculation, retention, and graduation rates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred in education or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability up to 10 hours per week with afternoon, evening, and/or weekend slots.

Responsabilités

• Tutor students in assigned subjects
• Provide student guidance to promote study skills
• Assist students in assessing skills and goals
• Maintain a log of activities
• Meet with project staff and/or faculty to discuss planning and activities
• Work closely with HCOP Success Coaches
