Job summary

Wipfli in Denver is seeking an accounting intern to gain tax experience within a collaborative team. You will respond to client inquiries, gather information for tax documents, and assist with preparation under supervision.

This in-person role emphasizes data analysis, process improvement, and gaining hands-on experience with accounting software while building professional skills and exposure to client engagements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (completion of corporate or individual taxation class is required)
• Above average knowledge in accounting; GPA preferably 3.0 or higher
• Working towards CPA exam eligibility after graduation
• Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data
• Ability to think independently and make good decisions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients and staff
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
• Gather information from clients to complete required documents
• Use data analysis skills to discover information and patterns to support recommendations
• Identify opportunities to improve processes for efficiency
• Prepare individual, business and fiduciary tax returns and projections
• Understand and use current tax and accounting software applications
• Research tax issues and related financial reports
• Perform a limited number of tax return interviews as needed
