NTC Language Services is seeking reliable In-Person Educational Interpreters for Sinhalese in Western Suffolk County, NY. This part-time, as-needed position requires availability to travel to and attend assignments in person.

Interpreters will facilitate clear, culturally responsive communication among students, families, educators, administrators, and other school professionals. The role emphasizes neutrality and confidentiality in school settings, with a flexible, as-needed schedule.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Sinhalese.
• Interpret spoken communication accurately and completely between both languages.
• Maintain neutrality and confidentiality in school settings.
• Be available to travel to and attend assignments in person in Western Suffolk County, NY.
• Flexible, as-needed scheduling and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for parent-teacher conferences.
• Interpret for CSE/CPSE meetings.
• Interpret for student evaluations and enrollment activities.
• Assist in school orientations and workshops.
• Support family engagement events and counseling sessions.
• Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality.
