Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach introductory mathematics to health science majors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Courses include Algebra, Calculus I, and Statistics, taught in person with morning/afternoon slots.

Ideal candidates hold at least a master's degree in mathematics and have teaching experience at the college level, with strong organizational and communication skills and a commitment to

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (masters or above) in mathematics or allied discipline
  • Minimum of one (1) year of teaching math courses at the college/university level
  • Commitment to undergraduate student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, and administration/staff)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers engaging instruction in face-to-face, in-person classes
  • Provides assignments that demonstrate real-world applications of concepts covered
  • Provides students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria
  • Uses the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
  • Advises and assists students through in-person office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone, or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
