Job summary

The Boyceville Public Library is seeking an energetic and creative Library Director who will oversee daily operations, drive outreach, and supervise staff. The role emphasizes strong computer and technology skills and fostering a welcoming library environment, with responsibilities including program development for all ages and coordination of operations.

This full-time, in-person position requires 40 hours weekly, with some evenings and Saturdays, and involves budget oversight, fundraising

Qualifications

• 54 semester credits, half in liberal arts and sciences.
• Eligible for Wisconsin Grade III library certification.
• Library experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region and state.
• 40 hours per week in person, including some evenings and Saturdays.
• Must be able to lift/push 40 lbs and to stand, bend, squat.

Responsibilities

• Establishes positive relationships with employees, the public, agencies and the Library Board.
• Manages and supervises library operations and schedules.
• Provides leadership in short- and long-term library planning.
• Prepares data for monthly reports to the Library Board.
• Designs library programming for community needs and supports all activities.
• Communicates policies to staff, patrons and the Board.
• Assists with fundraising for a new building.
• Maintains an exemplary spirit of service and integrity.
