Job summary

NTC Language Services seeks reliable in-person Educational Interpreters fluent in English and Gujarati to support schools in Western Suffolk County, NY. The role is part-time, as-needed, with assignments including parent-teacher conferences and special education meetings.

Interpreters will provide accurate, culturally responsive communication, travel to assignments, and ensure confidentiality and neutrality while maintaining professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in both English and Gujarati (read, write, speak).
• Experience in education or interpreting is preferred but not required.
• Must be available to travel to and attend assignments in person in Western Suffolk County, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for parent-teacher conferences and CSE/CPSE meetings.
• Interpret communications between students, families, educators, and school staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and neutrality; do not alter information.
• Arrive on time and attend full duration of each assignment.
• Dress in business-casual attire and communicate professionally with stakeholders.
