Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking reliable In-Person Educational Interpreters for Punjabi to support Western Suffolk County schools. This part-time, as-needed role involves interpreting at parent-teacher conferences, CSE/CPSE meetings, student evaluations, registrations, and school events, with no remote assignments.

Interpreters must read, write, and speak fluent English and Punjabi, preserve meaning and confidentiality, arrive promptly, and travel to in-person assignments within Western Suffolk

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Punjabi.
• Interpret spoken communication accurately between both languages.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Comfort learning educational terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for parent-teacher conferences, CSE/CPSE meetings, student evaluations, registrations, and school events.
• Interpret for classroom and family communications, ensuring accuracy and neutrality.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
• Arrive on time and travel to assignments within Western Suffolk County.
• Follow all school and district policies and dress in business-casual attire.
