Job summary

Centro Escolar University in Las Cruces, NM invites a motivated college student to join our claims team for the summer of 2027. You will review, evaluate, and analyze documentation related to property claims and assist with auto storm losses, while gaining exposure to underwriting and title work in a hands-on setting.

This role requires strong communication, solid computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel), and the ability to work in person at the New Mexico State office from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college, preferably in agriculture, business, or insurance.
• Quick learner eager to understand property insurance policies.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.
• Effective communicator with excellent customer service and team focus.
• Detail oriented and willing to ask questions.
• Comfortable speaking on the phone approximately 75% of the time.
• Available to work full time in-person at the New Mexico State office during summer 2027.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and analyze documentation related to claims.
• Assist with auto storm losses and manage claim assignments for material damage.
• Help manage and track losses during storm season.
• Manage rental vehicles and assist in processing title work.
• Opportunity to work with underwriting processes if time allows.
• Participate in corporate activities providing exposure to the industry, organization, and culture following an 80/10/10 approach: 80% meaningful work and projects, 10% learning and networking, 10% shared internship experiences.
