Job summary

Qualifications

MA or PhD in the target language (literature, linguistics, or culture) or a related language degree.
Native or near-native level of fluency in the target language, and in English.
Experience or interest in teaching either online or livestream modes in addition to face-to-face.
Training in foreign language pedagogy and knowledge of best practices.

Responsibilities

Teach first- and second-year Chinese courses with potential to teach higher levels.
Serve a minimum of one hour per week at the Center for Languages as part of teaching load.
Maintain professional etiquette and provide timely feedback to students.
Maintain attendance records and submit grades by deadlines.
Create a safe, respectful instructional environment and align with college policies.
