Face-to-face position to teach first- and second-year Chinese courses with the potential to teach third- and fourth-year Chinese courses. We are looking for an adjunct to join our World Languages team to teach one or more sections a semester. The new instructor will be supported by our World Languages Coordinator. Our language courses are flipped, communicative, and active-learning-based. Cultural competence is necessary (e.g., how to navigate racial and sexual diversity in the target culture, including gender-neutral language). Candidates need to be available to teach physically in the classroom on our Taylorsville Redwood Campus. Specific days and times are negotiable. Instructors are required to serve for a minimum of one hour a week at the Center for Languages as part of their teaching load.
This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.Pooled positions re-open every year.
This position is paid at $1,056 per instructional unit.In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.
