Job summary

Think Together is seeking Substitute Program Leaders to work with assigned groups of students across California districts and school sites. This part-time, in-person role pays $20/hour and emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and creating a safe, nurturing learning environment.

You will lead 20–25 students, promote the four core agreements (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Have Fun), provide homework assistance, and coordinate with site staff and families to support student growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• District-specific - 48 semester/60 quarter units and/or pass a pre-employment test.
• Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public-school setting.
• Must pass Live Scan background check.
• Provide negative TB Test dated within the last 3 years.
• At least six months experience working with a group of 10+ students in a classroom, afterschool, or recreation environment.
• Must be available 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Program start and end times are roughly between 1:00 PM- 6:00 PM; times may vary with school schedules.
• Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal).
• Bi-literate, Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students in-person, maintaining behavior and safety per Think Together core agreements (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Have Fun).
• Serve as a positive adult role model through dress, speech, and attitude.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for students.
• Provide homework assistance and academic enrichment under provided curriculum.
• Assist with snack prep, serving, and cleanup.
• Set up, break down, and maintain clean and orderly sites.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-ins/outs.
