Job summary

New York Edge is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people to fill the part-time role of after-school Academic Enrichment Coach. You will be responsible for providing a safe and positive environment for school-age children and opportunities for learning, interaction, and growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience working with children strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants.
• Be an agent of safety for campers and model appropriate behavior.
• Maintain daily communication with supervisor about concerns or incidents.
• Engage participants in structured, age-appropriate activities in arts, STEM, literacy, and physical activities.
• Prepare learning environments and supplies for program activities; keep spaces clean and organized.
• Support planning and execution of activities, trips, and events.
• Assist Activity Specialists with activity implementation.
• Foster a positive, youth-centered atmosphere inclusive of diverse learners.
• Build positive relationships with parents/guardians and provide updates on child progress.
• Attend required trainings and meetings and participate in events.
• Ensure groups are in proper ratio.
