Job summary

New York Edge is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people to fill the part-time role of after-school Academic Enrichment Coach. In this role, you will be critical to the successful operation of New York Edge's after-school program.

You will provide a safe and positive environment for school-age children and provide opportunities for learning, interaction, and academic/personal growth. Academic Enrichment Coaches also participate in activities and trips while providing and maintaining a safe

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience working with children strongly preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow policies/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision at all times to ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants.
• Be an agent of safety for campers and staff.
• Keep supervisor informed daily of concerns regarding participants, staff, or the facility.
• Engage participants in structured, age-appropriate activities and lessons.
• Prepare learning environments and supplies; maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Support planning and implementation of activities, field trips, and performances.
• Create a strength-based, youth-focused atmosphere.
• Develop relationships with parents/guardians and provide updates.
