Job summary

New York Edge in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an enthusiastic After School Academic Enrichment Coach for the part-time program. You will provide a safe, engaging environment and support learning, reading, math, arts, STEM, and sports through structured activities and field trips.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:30 pm–5:30 pm, in-person, with opportunities to work with school-age children and collaborate with Activity Specialists.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience working with children strongly preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants.
• Be an agent of safety for campers and uphold safety for self and others.
• Keep supervisor informed daily of concerns regarding participants or facilities.
• Engage participants in structured, age-appropriate activities and learning.
• Prepare learning environments and supplies; maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Support planning and implementation of activities, field trips, and performances.
• Provide support to Activity Specialists with activity execution.
• Create a strength-based, youth-focused atmosphere and model positive behavior.
• Develop positive relationships with parents/guardians through regular updates.
• Attend required trainings and designated meetings; ensure groups remain in ratio.
