Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values.
• Primary contact for cystoscopy and catheter-related issues, trainings and procedures.
• Train and mentor MA staff on various procedures.
• Record patients' medical history, vital signs and information in medical records.
• Prepare procedure rooms, keep them neat, clean and stocked.
• Maintain stock of supplies and order regularly.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs.
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and ensure understanding.
• Assist physicians in the examination rooms as needed.
