Job summary

DHR Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Weslaco Multi Spec Clinic. The role supports administrative and clinical teams, including scribing, wound care, post-operative visits, and patient communications, within a busy physician office setting.

Ideal candidates have MA program completion and BLS, with strong English communication and organizational skills. Prior EMR experience and ability to manage schedules and office duties are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program is required.
• BLS certification required, or within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in a physician office is preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions, assist RN and MD.
• Assist in obtaining patient history, chief complaint and vital signs as necessary.
• Schedule and coordinate referrals and monitor patient appointments.
• Adhere to managed care policies and ensure proper patient benefits.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and prepare for procedures.
• Assist with in-office procedures and diagnostic tests as needed.
• Prepare and maintain patient files and ensure accurate records.
