GlobalMed is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our in-office Finance & Accounting team in Scottsdale, AZ. This part-time role offers 20-30 hours per week and provides hands-on support across accounting functions, not limited to one area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience with account reconciliations and researching accounting transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide general accounting support across the Finance & Accounting department.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
• Prepare, enter, and maintain journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance and research accounting transactions.
• Provide support to AP and AR teams during periods of increased workload or coverage needs.
• Perform cash and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with fixed asset schedules and related accounting activities.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and other recurring accounting schedules.
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with financial and management reporting as assigned.
• Respond to audit requests and provide accurate supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized, complete, and well‑documented accounting records.
• Cross‑train within the accounting department to provide coverage and continuity.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and assist with implementing accounting procedures.
• Take on special projects and other accounting‑related responsibilities as needed.
