Job summary

Davis Talent Search is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in Scottsdale. You will assist with data entry, reconciliations, and support the month-end close, working closely with the Controller in a collaborative environment.

This full-time, entry-to-mid level role offers exposure to corporate accounting fundamentals, hands-on learning, and opportunities for growth within a fast-paced wealth tech context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar software.
• Excellent attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• This is a full-time W-2 role based in the U.S.; visa sponsorship not available.
• Candidates must be local to the Scottsdale/Phoenix area; relocation is not an option.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting tasks such as data entry and transaction processing.
• Help with month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of financial transactions.
• Contribute to audit preparation by organizing supporting documentation.
• Help maintain internal control procedures and accounting documentation.
• Provide administrative and analytical support to Controller and team.
• Participate in team projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to launch an accounting career in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

In this role, you will assist with a variety of accounting tasks including data entry, reconciliation, and supporting the month-end close. You will work directly with the Controller and other team members to learn and grow in a collaborative and supportive setting. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables).
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software - a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• A positive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges.
• This is a full-time, W2 role based in the U.S.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Candidates must be local to the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Relocation is not an option.
