Job summary

McCrory Construction is seeking an Accounting Manager in Columbia, SC to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and project accounting. This in-office role reports to the CFO and will eventually lead the accounting department.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in full-cycle accounting in construction, strong GAAP knowledge, Viewpoint Spectrum experience, advanced Excel skills, and excellent communication with project managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a full cycle accounting role, preferably in construction.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Viewpoint Spectrum or similar ERP software.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable processes and monitor aging.
• Reconcile key accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee payroll processing and allocate job costs.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist CFO with monthly reporting and audits.
• Coordinate with the broader accounting team to balance workload.
