Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Mattawan, MI is seeking a Technical Trainer I - In-Life to develop and deliver animal training during the onboarding period and beyond. The role collaborates with production and training management to train employees in husbandry and technical skills across multi-species areas.

The position pays $25/hr USD and requires flexible hours to cover extended shifts. The successful candidate will have 1–4 years of relevant experience, a degree, and proficiency with LMS/LCMS

Qualifications

• HS/GED/Bachelor's degree with 1–4 years of relevant experience; LAT certification preferred.
• Large animal, small animal, NHP, and/or multi-species husbandry and technical skills on production studies.
• Proficiency in required departmental technical skills; previous training experience preferred.
• Knowledge of department processes and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn a validated system.
• Ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide onboarding and technical training program development and evaluation.
• Deliver onboarding and technical training elements; document programs.
• Conduct classroom, virtual and hands-on instructor-led training.
• Collaborate with departments to develop training resources for varied learning styles.
• Support training activity and course development using LMS/LCMS tools.
• Maintain knowledge in learning theory, coaching and motivation KSAs.
