Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan seeks a licensed attorney to defend workers’ compensation claims in-house, with travel to Iowa and Nebraska as needed. You will research, depose witnesses, negotiate settlements, and advise the company on major projects under the General Counsel.

Required are a JD, active bar status, and at least four years of legal experience, preferably in insurance. Strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally are essential.

Qualifications

• A Juris Doctor Degree and admission to the bar (in good standing) required.
• Minimum four years of legal experience; insurance industry preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing insurance.
• Ability to understand complex legal issues; strong analytical and communication skills.
