Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required; bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum two years in the insurance industry and one year in legal/compliance; four years of legal experience with two in insurance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state insurance laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Advise on litigation risk analysis and coverage strategy for the organization.
• Draft legal opinions and memoranda; work with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with outside counsel for depositions, mediations and discovery.
• Conduct legal research and provide timely opinions and advice.
• Identify risk areas and collaborate with claims and underwriting to mitigate exposure.
• Develop training materials and lead training for company personnel on legal matters.
