Job summary

Jobtailor in Tampa, FL seeks a seasoned Trial Attorney to handle insurance defense cases and manage case work from intake to resolution. You will prepare pleadings, briefs, and memos while ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance, and you will communicate with claims handlers to provide updates.

Requirements include 3+ years as a trial attorney, State Bar membership, and willingness to travel. Prior use of case management software is preferred to keep files organized and current.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a trial attorney.
• Handling of insurance defense work is preferred.
• Member of the State Bar.
• Must maintain all necessary licensing and continuing education requirements.
• Required to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle legal work on assigned cases.
• Aggressively pursue files referred to Staff Counsel by the Claims Department.
• Create and maintain documented case-handling strategies, including intangible factors.
• Develop, organize, and maintain pleadings, briefs, memorandums, and other document files.
• Prepare and submit timely status reports to claims handlers on significant activities, at intervals no greater than 60 days.
• Ensure files are properly documented and organized.
• Respond promptly to telephone calls and correspondence.
• Use case management software for notes, diary, calendar, billing, and case management in accordance with company guidelines and legal and ethical requirements
