Job summary

Ashby Ponds, a vibrant continuing care retirement community in Ashburn, VA, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing disorders.

This PRN onsite role offers no travel, collaborative interdisciplinary team, and opportunities to build meaningful relationships while delivering resident-centered care. Requirements include Virginia SLP license; strong communication skills; geriatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Speech-Language Pathology license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Experience with geriatric populations preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resident-centered care mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on treatment strategies and communication techniques.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support resident-centered care.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Participate in care planning and team meetings.
