Job summary

Comfort-Air Engineering, Inc. seeks a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to fabricate metal structures for HVAC installation and related equipment. You will select materials, cut and shape metal to precise dimensions, and assemble components per blueprints and directions.

The role requires precision, safety in operating machinery, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Preference given to applicants with HS diploma, apprenticeship, or certification, and who can lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an apprenticeship or a three-year in-company training program (preferred).
• Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and build sheet metal structures per specs.
• Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions.
• Weld, rivet, or assemble parts as directed by blueprints or instructions.
• Assemble components and secure seams using suitable fasteners.
• Operate sheet metal machinery and software tools to complete tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Job description

The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate and build various metal structures and equipment for HVAC installation and other equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
2. Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
3. Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
4. Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
5. Performs assigned work on assembly lines, such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
6. Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
7. Maintains clean and orderly workspace.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
• Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
• Ability to follow directions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship or a three-year in-company training program (preferred).
• Certification (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
