Job summary

RCS Heating and Cooling is seeking an experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our hands-on team in the Hudson Valley area. You will fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork, read blueprints, and work with installers to deliver high-quality HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or HVAC installation preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an HVAC Sheet Metal Fabricator. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, follows safety procedures, and thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and related HVAC components according to specifications and project requirements
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and technical documents
• Ensure all work meets quality standards, building codes, and safety requirements
• Inspect completed components for accuracy, fit, and finish
• Collaborate with installers, technicians, project managers, and other team members to complete projects efficiently
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe conditionAssist with material handling, inventory control, and job site organization as needed
• Troubleshoot fabrication or installation issues and recommend practical solutions
• Follow company procedures and use personal protective equipment appropriately at all times

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC installation, or a related trade preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, measurements, and technical instructions
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic math skills for measuring, calculating, and material layout
• Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in varying job site conditions
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, and sheet metal practices is a plus

Preferred Skills

• Experience with layout, fabrication, and installation of commercial or residential duct systems
• Ability to weld, solder, or perform additional metalworking tasks
• Familiarity with shop fabrication processes and job site coordination
