Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking an In-House Service Technician for its Birmingham, AL location. You will perform repairs and preventive maintenance on articulating cranes, truck-mounted equipment and related systems, while documenting work orders and ensuring safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with 3 years of mechanical experience, strong diagnostics skills, and the ability to lift 75 lbs. Tools are supplied as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years mechanical experience or training in cranes and forklifts.
• Basic computer skills with Windows applications.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative; lift 75lbs+ when required.
• Supply own hand tools; Palfinger proprietary tools provided by the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck mounted forklifts, bucket trucks, platforms, conveyors, trucks and trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance per customer schedule, DOT inspections and warranty service.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs during working and non-working hours.
• Communicate mechanical issues and needed repairs to shop manager.
• Document service work with estimates, work orders, parts, labor and inventory records.
• Comply with state and federal safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area.
