Job summary

Suno is seeking a Payroll Manager to own the payroll function for a fast-growing Series D company. You will manage end-to-end payroll, ensure timely payments, and maintain compliance across multi-state footprints while collaborating with People and finance teams.

In this role you will build scalable payroll processes, implement AI-driven improvements, and bring a hands-on, build-and-operate approach to establish in-house payroll excellence as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of payroll experience with ownership of end-to-end payroll processing.
• Strong discretion and ability to handle confidential matters.
• Deep knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance.
• Hands-on experience with major payroll systems.
• Strong payroll accounting and GL reconciliation.
• Experience using AI/automation to improve payroll accuracy.
• Builder's mindset to set up and automate payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing across all cycles.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Collaborate with People team on onboarding, changes, and off-boarding.
• Manage third-party providers and reconcile to GL.
• Develop scalable payroll policies, controls, and self-service.
• Implement AI/automation to speed and accuracy.
