Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a reliable In-House Maintenance Technician to keep our facility, kitchen, and equipment running smoothly. You will handle general repairs, plumbing, and service of TurboChef ovens and refrigeration equipment, with full training provided.

This on-site role requires hands-on skills, the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and the stamina to lift 50+ lbs. The position offers competitive pay, on-the-job training, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or similar role.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing repair (leaks, clogs, fixtures, etc.)
• Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience with commercial kitchen or refrigeration equipment is a plus, but not required — training provided.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time/priorities.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50+lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs (plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, power washing etc.)
• Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment including TurboChef ovens, freezers, refrigerators, and coffee machines
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment and building systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns
• Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
• Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors for specialized repairs when needed
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair records
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
• Assist with setup/breakdown for facility needs as required

No specific certification on our equipment is required —we provide full training on TurboChef ovens, refrigeration systems, and coffee/beverage equipment. What matters most is a strong general maintenance/handyman background and a willingness to learn.
