Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a reliable in‑house Maintenance Technician to keep our facility, kitchen, and equipment running smoothly, from general repairs to commercial kitchen gear like TurboChef ovens, freezers, and coffee machines.

No specific certification is required as full training is provided on TurboChef ovens, refrigeration, and coffee/beverage equipment; a strong handyman background and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or similar role.
• General maintenance/handyman background with willingness to learn.
• Training provided on TurboChef ovens, refrigeration, and coffee/beverage equipment.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs (plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, power washing, etc.).
• Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment including TurboChef ovens, freezers, refrigerators, and coffee machines.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment and building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors for specialized repairs when needed.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair records.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
• Assist with setup/breakdown for facility needs as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or similar role
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing repair (leaks, clogs, fixtures, etc.)
• Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience with commercial kitchen or refrigeration equipment is a plus, but not required — training provided
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time/priorities
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift 50+lbsand perform physical tasks (bending, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods)
• Valid driver's license
