Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a reliable In-House Maintenance Technician to keep our facility, kitchen, and equipment running smoothly. You’ll handle repairs from plumbing to commercial kitchen gear, with full training provided on TurboChef ovens, refrigeration units, and coffee/beverage equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, document repairs, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or similar role.
• Basic plumbing repair knowledge and ability to fix leaks and clogs.
• Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Training provided for TurboChef ovens and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Good communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs (plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, painting).
• Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment (TurboChef ovens, refrigerators, coffee machines).

Job description

We're looking for a reliable, hands‑on In‑House Maintenance Technician to join our team. You'll be the go‑to person for keeping our facility, kitchen, and equipment running smoothly — from general repairs and plumbing to commercial kitchen equipment like TurboChef ovens, freezers/refrigeration units, and coffee machines.

No specific certification on our equipment is required —we provide full training on TurboChef ovens, refrigeration systems, and coffee/beverage equipment. What matters most is a strong general maintenance/handyman background and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs (plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, power washing etc.)
• Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment including TurboChef ovens, freezers, refrigerators, and coffee machines
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment and building systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns
• Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
• Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors for specialized repairs when needed
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair records
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
• Assist with setup/breakdown for facility needs as required

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or similar role
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing repair (leaks, clogs, fixtures, etc.)
• Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience with commercial kitchen or refrigeration equipment is a plus, but not required — training provided
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time/priorities
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift 50+lbsand perform physical tasks (bending, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods)
• Valid driver's license
