Job summary

Swickard Auto Group seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to be the primary in-house L&E counsel for a fast-growing multi-state employer with a California focus. You will advise HR and operations, shape policies, and handle wage-hour, leaves, and compliance across CA, OR, WA, AK, HI, and NV.

Requires J.D. and active bar admission (California preferred) with 3+ years in L&E. You will lead investigations, draft policies and agreements, manage disputes, and train teams.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
• California bar license required or strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of labor and employment law experience in-house, law firm, or both.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary in-house counsel on labor and employment matters across Swickard markets.
• Advise HR leadership and General Managers on compliance across jurisdictions (CA, OR, WA, AK, HI, NV).
• Draft, review, and update employment policies, letters, and agreements.
• Manage employment disputes and litigation (EEOC, state/federal court, ADR, eDiscovery).
• Partner with HR on investigations and disciplinary decisions while ensuring legal compliance.
• Monitor changes in employment law across jurisdictions and update the organization.
